GM says, "*** START SESSION ***"
GM says, "it's been four weeks since we last met, so let me recap what's going on so we're all on the same page"
GM says, "after you won a Pyrrhic victory over Miraguntha, the Frankish King Clovis grew interested in your story and sent his Marshal Hrothgar to investigate"
GM says, "Hrothgar discovered that Miraguntha may have a daughter living in the Visigothic city of Tolosa and has sent you, led by Garomach, to prevent her avenging her mother"
GM says, "you set out for Tolosa about 2 weeks ago, crossing a range of mountains where you met the ascetic monks led by Aphasius"
GM says, "Aphasius and his group gave you figurines to sell in Cavillonum, the Burgundian city where you made your first extended stop"
GM says, "in Cavillonum, you had mixed success selling the figurines, and Renard and Johan were waylaid by a man later identified as Perfu, the leader of a group of Langobards who seem to have everyone in the area cowed"
GM says, "after hearing that Perfu's army was heading into Cavillonum, you decided to leave for Lugdunum. on the way, you passed the army, which seemed a wholly dangerous force. they carried with them someone's head on a stake."
GM says, "you have just arrived in Lugdunum, which is a somewhat more luxurious city that Cavillonum."
GM says, "questions/comments?"
Corin says, "did the army pass thru Lugdunum?"
GM says, "yes, you heard in Cavillonum that the army "sacked" Lugdunum, but the veracity of this claim is in some doubt"
GM says, "certainly when you arrive, Lugdunum doesn't appear sacked"
GM says, "brb"
Corin says, "k"
GM says, "back"
Corin )
Corin says, "Do we have any figurines left to sell?"
GM says, "yes. the Langobards destroyed one bag, but there are three others left in your carruca"
Corin remembers his headache, and thinks he will refrain from libations in Ligdunum.
GM says, "when you arrive in Lugdunum, the city guards give you the usual instructions not to show a bare blade within the city and let you pass without further comment"
Corin asks the guard if a large army had been thru here.
Bodoni ?Can I ask the guards abotut he army?
GM says, "Garomach asks them for advice about lodgings, and they suggest a place not too far away."
Bodoni does the same as Corin
Corin says, "(great minds think alike)"
Bodoni (Grin)
GM says, "[Guard] do you refer to the cur-looking Langobard army?"
Bodoni says, "Aye.."
Corin says, "they had a head atop a pole also. Who's was that?""
GM says, "[Guard, making a face] aye, they were indeed, only four days ago. most unpleasant, they were."
Bodoni nods at that, somewhat curious
GM says, "[Guard] where did you see this army? are they going to Lugdunum?"
Corin says, "no, Cavillonum."
GM says, "wups, my fault :) i meant Cavillonum"
GM slaps himself
Corin says, "yes, they are then :)"
GM says, "[Guard] that head was the Honorable Pedronius, a man most loved and revered in Lugdunum. a great tragedy."
Bodoni says, "The word is Cavillonum was that this city had been sacked by the army. Lots of people seem on edge.."
Corin says, "why did they kill him?"
GM says, "[Guard] sacked? well, no. although i daresay they could have if they'd wanted to. the city guard was no match for them, i am most ashamed to report."
GM says, "[Guard] that son-of-a-fitchet Perfu proclaimed that Pedronius had betrayed him and even put on a trial, but if you ask me it must have been a sham."
Corin says, "so who is running this place now?"
GM says, "the guard rattles off a few names, but seems somewhat disgusted with all of them."
GM says, "[Guard] miserable pliant bastards, all of them. it's because of people like that that Rome fell."
GM says, "he shakes his head"
Corin says, "thanks, and good day.""
Corin turns to Garomach, "Do we go for lodging now?"
GM says, "the guard nods and returns to his post"
Joseph says, "(to Garomach) what are your plans for us in Lugdunum, m'lord? May we try to sell more of the figures the monks gave us?"
Bodoni gives the guard a nod, and turns to Garomach
GM says, "[Garomach] we'd better get to that inn the guard suggested - it's getting dark. (to Joseph) we'll stay for a couple of days and reprovision. and i have a few things to check on. what you do while i'm busy is up to you."
Corin grins at Bodoni, remembering the women exploits.
Caralchis laughs
Bodoni Bodoni smiles and gives Corin a heavy pat on the back
Corin continues to follow the carruca to the suggested lodging.
Corin looks around as he walks.
GM says, "you see little evidence of the Langobards as you head through the city streets"
GM says, "that is, little evidence of the Langobards' occupation"
Corin says, "SO much for a sacking, eh Caralchis?"
Caralchis says, "Yes, it seems the rumours were mostly just that.. rumours"
Corin nods.
GM says, "[Garomach] these things are often exaggerated in the retelling."
Corin rubs his neck thoughfully. "ALthough Petronius may not think its exaggerated."
GM says, "when you arrive at the inn, you are greeted at the door by the innkeeper, who introduces himself as Marcus Faustulus and is happy to let you rooms for a few nights"
Bodoni says, "Aye, esspecially war stories, eh Caralchis?"
Bodoni pats Caralchis on the back and give a loud laugh
Caralchis nods at Garomach's comment "rumours have a life of their own"
Caralchis smiles
Corin helps to unload their belongings into their rooms.
Corin says, "We selling those things again? I say we chuck 'em out and say we did.""
GM says, "you get the carruca stowed and the horses are led to the city stables"
Bodoni suddenly perks up "Faustulus! Ye old soldier, what the hell are ye doin' here!
Joseph says, "(to Cornin) If were supposed to be merchants, we better sell something. The money from these figures is for a good cause."
Corin [to Joseph]: "That old man Bodoni knows everyone. He's been around for eons.
GM says, "[Faustulus] eh? what? (he peers at Bodoni) why, it's Bodoni from X Legio Gallica!"
Bodoni laughs "I knew it was ye.."
Corin [to Joseph]: "and we may meet some women selling these things anyway."
GM says, "[Faustulus] what are you doing here, old fellow?"
Bodoni nearly answers turthfully, but stops "Ah...I am part of a merchant guard detail. Not very exciting, but good honest work."
Bodoni (truthfully)
Bodoni says, "And yourself?"
GM says, "[Faustulus] still swinging that mace of yours, eh old man?"
Corin chuckles at Bodoni being embarrassed guarding a carruca.
Bodoni gives a large grin "Still young enough to give anyone trouble that come lookin' fer it.."
Bodoni Tries again "So, you live in town, or are you travelling?"
GM says, "[Faustulus] oh you know, after the Battle of Bibracte our legion was decimated, so i 'retired' and opened up this place. meet my wife! she'll have dinner ready soon. (he pats his belly) as you can see, she cooks well."
GM says, "his ample belly, i should have said :)"
Corin [to Caralchis]: "a little too well, I'd say. What a cow."
Bodoni grins big "I can see that."
Bodoni says, "Nice to see someone could get Marcus to settle down. I didn't think it possible."
GM says, "Faustulus' wife, a woman almost as big as her husband, comes out of the kitchen dusting floured hands on her clothes and greets you warmly"
Bodoni good natured "With my wife's cooking I'm getting a bit thick in the middle, but I just march on."
Corin elbows Bodoni gently, "how about some food? I'm famished!"
GM says, "[Faustulus] this is Wendalia, Bodoni. dear, an old friend from my army days. What a happy coincidence!"
Bodoni says, "Ah..let me introduce my freinds.. they work with me on the detail, ad my employer.."
Bodoni (before) "A please to meet you, ma'am."
Bodoni introduces the others
GM says, "[Wendalia] (to Corin) we'll get some food in you soon, son, not to worry"
Corin nods his head towards the large pair. "Corin, me name is."
Corin says, "well met."
Bodoni says, "I heard your city had some trouble recently, eh?"
Corin smiles thankfully to Wendalia.
Bodoni to Marcus
GM says, "[Faustulus] aye, but let's not speak of that now. i need to get drunk first!"
Corin shudders involuntarily.
Bodoni says, "Finer words were never spoken old friend!"
GM says, "Faustulus helps you get into your rooms and as you return to the tavern area to eat dinner, the front door opens"
Corin looks towards the front door.
Bodoni looks
Caralchis glances uninterestedly
GM says, "and in walks a beautiful woman... girl?... she's just on the cusp of womanhood, dark-haired and fair-skinned, with enchanting eyes that immediately fascinate all of you"
Caralchis becomes a little more interested
Corin gasps and his jaw drops open in awe.
Bodoni grins, and raises an eyebrow
Bodoni doesn't realize his eyes are fixed on her as he gets a little lost
GM says, "she glances at you quickly, closes the door, and begins to walk past, saying to Faustulus as she passes "i believe i'll take dinner alone tonight, Marcus""
Corin says, "wow...Bodoni...do you think...?""
GM says, "he smiles and nods, and the girl continues past and into the hallway that leads to the guestrooms"
Bodoni chuckles and leave it at that
Corin pulls his tongue back in his head.
GM says, "[Faustulus] (grinning) ah, i see you've noticed our most recent guest"
Bodoni says, "I should say it would be difficult not too, eh Corin?""
Bodoni draws attention to him
Corin says, "who, I mean, yes, I noticed someone entering..." Corin blushes."
Bodoni laughs, and pats Corin on the back
Corin says, "we see women like that in Praesus all the time, eh?""
GM says, "[Faustulus] she's a problem, that one. Portia, her name is, the daughter of a wealthy landowner from Vienna who stays here when he's in town."
Corin says, "Portia.....""
GM says, "[Faustulus] he sent her here to see some of the world before she marries, and asked us to keep watch over her. problem is, we just don't have the time!"
Bodoni says, "Corin could show her about while he's here."
Bodoni (she's)
GM says, "[Faustulus] you can imagine how awful it was with the Langobards here. we had to keep her out of sight the whole time for obvious reasons. many more careless maidens were despoiled during that week, i can tell you!"
GM says, "brb"
GM says, "back"
Corin remembers his asian features, and turns away despondent. "She'll have no interest in me."
Bodoni says, "Ah, give her the benifit of the doubt, lad.""
Corin shrugs, and returns his thoughts to food.
Bodoni secretly thinks he's right, but tries to cheer him up anyway
GM says, "[Faustulus] no offense, son, but i'm not sure i'd trust her with you"
GM says, "[Faustulus] what are you all doing in town over the next few days?"
Bodoni says, "we're selling religious statues."
GM says, "[Garomach] my guards here have no obligations. i myself have some trading to attend to."
Joseph nods
Bodoni Conceeds that point
GM says, "[Faustulus] no obligations, then? (he perks up) you COULD help me out by watching over Portia, then?"
GM says, "[Faustulus] what is this about religious statues?"
Corin pretends to be uninterested.
Joseph says, "(to Faustulus) I was going to ask, do you know where would be a good place to sell our relious stutues? a church or something?"
Bodoni nods "just one of the things on the list..nothing too terribly important.."
Joseph says, "relious = religious"
Bodoni Changes subject "Seriously, we'd be happy to help ye out, Marcus."
Caralchis says, "aye, there's no reason we shouldn't"
GM says, "[Faustulus] (to Joseph) i'm not of the faith myself, but Portia is Catholic. maybe she knows something about that."
Joseph resolves to talk to Portia when he sees her.
Corin has a similar resolution. Well, fairly similar.
GM chuckles
GM says, "[Faustulus] i'm in your debt, Bodoni. now, to the wine!"
Bodoni grins
Corin suddenly remembers his mother, and worries that everything is alright back in Praesus.
Corin says, "Faustulus, any news of that army heading to Praesus?""
GM says, "[Faustulus] Praesus? where is that?"
Corin points hesitantly in a vague direction. "THat way, 10 days ride or so."
Bodoni says, "just my little corner of the world.."
Corin says, "(how long we been travelling?)"
GM says, "[Faustulus] 10 days' ride? must not be in Burgundy then. i have no idea where that army is headed, though. i heard north toward Cavillonum?"
GM [to Corin]: 10 days' ride is close enough for government work
Corin [to Garomach]: "Think they'll go to Praesus, m'lord?"
Bodoni nods "Aye, we passed there army coming from, Cavillonum.
GM says, "Faustulus breaks open an amphora of wine and pours"
GM says, "[Garomach] that army is far bigger than the population of Praesus - if they do go there, we'll just have to hope they march past safely"
GM says, "[Garomach] they'll probably stick to the big cities, though"
Corin nods, but is not entirely at ease with the idea.
Corin sips his wine carefully, not wanting a repeat performance like in Cavillonum.
Bodoni says, "To be blunt, our little town doesn't have anything to offer, they're looking to occupy large cities..Praesus should be safe."
GM says, "[Faustulus] (drinking deeply) these are hard times, Bodoni, and no end in sight."
Bodoni thinks hard about that statment, but merely nods
Corin says, "What did you think of Pretonius, Faustulus?""
GM says, "[Faustulus] Pedronius was a good man - the city is worse off for his loss"
Corin nods. "We heard he was well respected."
GM says, "[Faustulus] and that's what i mean exactly! there was Pedronius, an honorable leader, strong and courageous, cut down before his time by that despicable barbarian Perfu. chaos rules everywhere, it seems."
GM says, "Garomach cocks an eyebrow at Faustulus, giving him a meaningful look"
Bodoni makes a face
GM says, "[Faustulus] (ignoring Garomach) the Roman tradition is disappearing in this sea of barbarism. (pouring himself more wine) anyone ready for a refill?"
Bodoni subtley slaps his forhead
Corin [to Garomach]: "Perhaps m'lord should have an early night, seeing he was feeling sick earlier?"
Bodoni says, "probably a good idea.." "
GM says, "[Garomach] (to Corin) no, this is an interesting subject. do go on, Faustulus."
Corin coughs awkwardly.
Bodoni says, "Marcus?"
GM says, "[Faustulus] YOU understand, eh Garomach?"
Corin stands, "Shall I take Portia's dinner to her, Faustulus?"
Bodoni says, "Do you remeber that fight we got involved in with those fellows years ago?"
GM says, "[Faustulus] eh Bodoni? we were in more than one if i recall!"
Bodoni says, "Oh, you know the one I mean....in that occupied territory...with the dark haired folk..you remember what started that fight..?"
GM says, "Faustulus motions Corin to sit back down. "Wendalia will take care of it.""
Corin grumbles and reluctantly sits back down.
Bodoni gives his a meaningful look
Bodoni cuts his eyes over to Garomach
Bodoni (his=him)
Joseph says, "Faustulus, I'd love to hear a story about you and Bodoni and your adventures in the X legio, would you tell us a story?"
GM says, "[Faustulus] oh yes, i think i recall that. everyone was pretty drunk."
Bodoni sighs
Bodoni (LOL!)
GM says, "[Faustulus] i've got a million of 'em!"
Joseph hopes he's got a story that doesn't involve the Franks
GM says, "[Faustulus] you wouldn't know your pa if you met him 25 years ago, that's for sure."
GM says, "[Faustulus] i remember this one time, we had that old crazy centurion... what was his name, Bodoni?"
Bodoni says, "Hm...Marcillius...I think."
Bodoni a smirk creeping in his features
GM says, "[F] that's it! Marcillius. yeah. so Marcillius, he was crazy, you know. kept having these fits, he'd be fine and the next minute he'd be writhing on the ground for no reason. the falling disease, they call it."
Bodoni nods, remembering that well
Joseph says, "so what happened to him?"
GM says, "[F] all the soldiers knew about it, of course, but you couldn't talk about it in front of him. he'd get all purple with rage. i remember one fellow he beat to within an inch of his life for cracking a joke abou it."
Corin waits for Wendalia to return to the table and quietly offers to help take Portia's food to her.
GM says, "[F] we were stationed in the barracks in Condate, right on the frontier of civilization at the time"
GM [to Corin]: she doesn't sit with you. women don't bother the menfolk while they're reminiscing :)
GM says, "[F] Bodoni, do you remember this?"
Bodoni Nods
GM says, "[F] so we're on leave, and Bodoni and I and Marcillius and about ten other legionaries were walking through town one night, not getting into any trouble"
Bodoni admittedly it is a big foggy
GM says, "[F] when he goes into one of his fits, right in the town square. and what do you know, it happened right in front of this old fortuneteller's place."
GM says, "[F] so this fortuneteller comes out while Marcillius is lying there, body rigid, eyes rolled back, hands clenched"
GM says, "[F] all of us were just standing around wondering what to do, and this fortuneteller comes out and put a long flat wooden thing in his mouth and sat there, just kneeled there in the dust watching him"
Corin listens to the story.
Corin says, "Whys did she do that?""
Bodoni offers "truly an odd thing to do."
GM says, "[F] eventually he came out of the fit and the fortuneteller whispered a few words to him and took him into her place. maybe twenty minutes later, out he comes, white as a sheet."
GM says, "[F] and he said that she'd told him that she read his future while he was having his seizure, and that he only had a week to live"
GM says, "[F] you remember now, right Bodoni?"
Bodoni nods letting him tell it
GM says, "[F] so i tell you truthfully, a week later TO THE DAY, Marcillius got kicked in the head by a mule and died on the spot"
Corin says, "Who was this fortuneteller?"
GM says, "Garomach has gotten absorbed by this story, his rising anger forgotten"
GM says, "[Faustulus] son, i have no idea. aren't you going to finish your wine? everyone else is on their second cup by now!"
Bodoni says, "Truly, destined by the gods."
Corin looks at his glass and holds his stomach. "I had too much in Cavillonum with Bodoni."
Bodoni chuckles "The lad out did himself, Marcus."
Joseph says, "(to F) that's a great story."
Corin says, "(probably not wineglasses, huh...more likely wooden?)"
Bodoni (as long as it's not lead lined... Pft! :D)
GM says, "[Faustulus] if you can't handle your wine like a man, how do you expect to handle a woman, eh? (pointedly looking towards the guestrooms)"
GM [to Corin]: wood or metal is more likely... glass was very expensive
Corin blushes, and looks confused.
Bodoni laughs a bit, and shakes his head "ah, Marcus ye always know how to endear yeself to others.."
Corin takes a longer quaff of wine, and tries to smile while he swallows.
Corin puffs out his chest. "I can handle myself, Faustulus, have no fear of that."
GM says, "[Garomach] he can handle a sword well enough"
GM says, "if you want to do anything else or talk about anything else in particular that night, tell me. otherwise we'll skip ahead to the next morning."
Corin says, "(when Corin wakes up in bed with Portia? *grin*)"
Bodoni (The usual...gambling, and drunken debauchery.. :D)
GM [to Corin]: hey, if you want to try it, roleplay it :)
Caralchis doesn't have much to do.. he'll probably get to bed early
Corin says, "(Corin does try to stay with the others, but only after purging his stomach several times. He has difficulty keeping the wine down.)"
Caralchis will stay up with the others for a bit, actually
GM [to Corin]: Faustulus is duly impressed by Corin's attempt, if not his execution
Corin in a sem-drunken show of bravery, decides to try knocking on Portia's door and meeting her. He pulls a hood over his head to hide his features.
GM says, "all right! :)"
Corin knocks hesitantly on Portia's door.
Bodoni (This ought to be funny to watch... ;D)
GM says, "everyone is engrossed in Faustulus' and Bodoni's stories, and Corin is able to slip away unnoticed"
Corin has a bottle of wine in his hand and two mugs.
GM [to Corin]: wine comes in amphorae, not bottles.
Corin says, "ok :)"
GM [to Corin]: an amphora is about 4 feet tall and weighs maybe half what you do, and it has a pointed base so it can't be set down except in a special spot :)
GM [to Corin]: so we'll say you have two cups full of wine, ok?
Corin says, "heh ok"
GM says, "you knock quietly and wait for a few seconds. no answer."
Corin knocks a little harder.
GM says, "you wait a little more, then putting your ear to the door you hear a rustling sound from within"
Corin says, "Ms. Portia? Are you ok?"
GM says, "there is no light in the hallway, but through the cracks around the door you see a very soft light suddenly brighten, then hear a soft slapping of bare feet on flagstones"
Corin steps back from the door.
Corin waits, expecting the door to open.
GM says, "the door opens and you are blinded by the candlelight. Portia's sleepy face peers at you."
GM says, "[Portia] what is it?"
Corin says, "oh, I am sorry miss....I thought you may wish some wine before going to sleep.""
Corin offers Portia a wine mug.
Bodoni (Trying to get her drunk, Corin? :P ;D)
Corin says, "(heh)"
GM says, "[Portia] i was already asleep, and i don't take my wine so strong."
GM says, "[Portia] lad, tomorrow is another full day. you should get some sleep yourself."
Corin says, "yes, of course....I should have known. But I may be leaving town soon. When I saw yo u enter, I was.....""
Corin stops, hesitant.
Corin says, "well, you looked like someone I once knew...""
Corin says, "only she was not as beautiful as you are...""
GM says, "[Portia] Wendalia told me your group would be protecting me for the next few days. (she sighs) they worry overmuch, i think."
Corin nods. "It is understanding they worry for you."
Corin says, "My name is Corin, I am sorry I did not introduce myself.""
GM says, "[Portia] (blushing) i thank you for that. (gently) really, though, get some sleep. i have lots to do tomorrow and if you're going to keep up with me, you'll need your strength."
Corin stands up straight. "Strength come easy to those of us in their prime."
Bodoni (Hey! :P ;D)
Corin says, "(hah!)"
GM says, "[Portia] goodnight, friend Corin. till tomorrow, then?"
Corin nods, reluctantly. "Sleep well, fair maiden."
Corin turns from the door, waiting for it to shut.
GM says, "she closes the door"
Corin returns to the others and decides to drink more wine.
Corin pulls the hood from his head before re-joining.
GM [to Corin]: they're not all like the ones you met in Cavillonum, i guess :)
Corin says, "should have offered her money :)"
Bodoni (hehehe...;D)
Corin says, "Bodoni, I think she likes me!""
GM says, "i forgot you were hooded, actually - that would have affected the conversation a little bit"
GM chuckles
Corin says, "well, hallway was in shadows, so she may not have noticed?"
GM says, "ok, good enough"
Corin says, "(next morning?)"
Bodoni (nice :D)
Corin says, "(corin casanova)"
GM says, "right. so Bodoni and Faustulus regale you all with war stories until late and much wine is consumed"
GM says, "but remembering your duties for the following day, you don't stay up TOO late and the next morning you wake up in fairly decent shape. Corin, of course, is the worst off."
Corin says, "(what a regular drunk I'm turning into.)"
Corin stumbles down to breakfast.
Bodoni wakes with only a bit of a hangover, having always been able to hold my better than most others
GM says, "brb"
GM says, "back - sorry for the delay""
Corin says, "np"
Bodoni (Thumbs up :D)
GM says, "when you enter the tavern area, Garomach is just leaving. he mentioned that he wants to get an early start."
GM says, "[Garomach] stay out of trouble, and i'll see you tonight."
Corin splashes lots of cold water on his head before going downstairs.
Bodoni nods "Aye, Mi'lord."
GM says, "as you sit down to eat, Portia comes in"
GM says, "[Portia] good morning! i apologize for not introducing myself last night, but i was quite tired."
Corin looks up and quickly looks down when he realizes it is Portia.
Joseph says, "good morning m'lady"
Caralchis introduces himself, he seems a bit troubled
Corin mumbles good morning, while still looking down at his plate.
Bodoni introduces himself "a fine morning to ye mi'lady."
GM says, "[Portia] it was horrible having to stay indoors all the time while the Langobards were in town"
GM says, "[Portia] but i'm making up for it now! there's so much to do and see here in Lugdunum!"
GM says, "[Portia] i come from a small village. it's a friendly place, but not near as lively as the city."
Corin perks up. "We too, come from a small village, but many days travel from here.
Joseph says, "Faustulus tells me you are Catholic too, have you met the priest of this town?"
GM says, "[Portia] really? where is that?"
Bodoni nods "Aye, the lad's correct, that we do.."
Bodoni lets Corin answer
Corin says, "Praesus it is called."
Corin says, "It is not in Burgundy."
GM says, "[Portia] aye, i am Catholic. i plan to go by the Church of St. Arbegast toward, in fact."
GM says, "[Portia] where is Praesus if not in Burgundy? the Frankish lands perhaps?"
GM says, "toward = today"
Corin nods.
GM says, "that explains your religion. most of the Burgundians are heretics; i fear for their souls."
GM says, "[Portia] (to Joseph) i haven't met the bishop yet, but the diocese is based at St. Arbegast"
Joseph says, "perhaps you could show me the way there"
GM says, "[Portia] (smiling) you're in a hurry, eh? we'll go there, today, don't worry."
GM says, "you finish up and prepare to go out"
GM says, "what are all of you bringing along?"
Corin says, "(where are we going again?)"
GM says, "Portia is wearing a brightly-colored toga fastened at both shoulders with fibulae"
Corin says, "(I'll bring something that will untie that *grin*)"
Bodoni (shakes his head.. ;D)
GM [to Corin]: out... come on, you're married IRL, you know what it means when a woman wants to go out :)
Corin says, "oh ,shopping..."
GM says, "lol"
Corin will bring along some statuettes and some simple clothes. His knife is at his side.
GM says, "and the rest of you?"
Joseph gets a bag of figures from upstairs. since we're supposed to be guarding Portia, he brings his sword along as well.
Bodoni Bodoni brings a sack of statues, asks Caralchis to team up with him again. Brings his mace as well
GM [to Joseph]: note that while wearing a sword is ok, using it is illegal within the city walls (this also goes for a knife)
GM says, "it's ok to bring it, but be aware of the laws"
Caralchis will gladly team up with Bodoni! he brings his knife, too
Caralchis thinks a big spatha might scare away potential customers
Joseph says, "(to Caralchis) do you think the sword is too much? I don't have a knife"
Joseph says, "(to Corin) will you help us sell statues, or are you going to bother Portia again?"
Corin scowls at Joseph. "Bother?"
Caralchis says, "If you haven't got anything else to protect you.."
Caralchis says, "a sword probably wouldn't be too bad"
Bodoni admonishes Joseph "leave the lad alone, son."
Joseph says, "(to Corin) well, I mean, 'enchant her with your presence'"
Bodoni says, "he's not doing any harm after all."
Corin chuckles. "yeah, I'll sell a few, before you get waylaid again and have them taken away."
Joseph says, "speaking of which, where *are* Renard and John?"
Corin says, "(gotta go real soon)"
Bodoni (we left them behind? ;D)
GM [to Joseph]: renard and johan are with you, ready to go out and be bodyguards for the day
Corin says, "(actually, can we stop here?)"
GM says, "i think that'd be ok - good stopping point"
GM says, "*** END SESSION ***"
Corin says, "(wife is calling, probably to "go out")"

Bodoni (That's cool with me...)
