GM says, "*** START SESSION ***"
GM says, "what we're going to do is skip a couple of days here."
Bodoni (moving on right to the execution, eh, GM? ;D)
Corin says, "((lol))"
GM says, "for the PCs in jail, not much happens. you are fed, you try to talk with the guards, you don't learn much. Agilulf doesn't have much more to say."
Corin says, "(it is a nice segue into his next campaign; mass execution.)"
GM jots down Corin's interesting idea...
Renard has arrived.
GM says, "for Corin... you got the carruca to Modag successfully, and together you go to the farm of one Aeric, who is a friend of Modag's"
Bodoni (*Chop, chop, chop* *GM shouts!*: "New characters!" *PLayers whimper* ;D)
Renard [groggily, foggily] "hullo..."
Corin says, "(late players should at least lose a limb *grin*)"
Bodoni (Hi, Renard.)
GM hands Renard some aspirin
GM thinks Renard missed a HT check this morning... probably at a hefty penalty, too...
Corin says, "(as long as infection doesnt set it in)"
Renard [stomach grumbling, looking at the tiny things] "How're these pieces of chalk s'posed to help me? Whoever heard of eating chalk?"
GM [to Renard]: we just now started... what we're doing is skipping a couple of uneventful days, and i'm describing what happened in this time
Renard [throwing a cursing glance skyward] "...And god Juno looks not well upon its minions in these dark times"
Corin says, "(system check)"
Renard [to GM]: we've been in a couple of days so far then?
GM says, "(so getting back to Corin) this Aeric is slightly wacko."
Corin says, "(seems fitting for a friend of Modag's)"
Corin notes the similarity between Wako and wacko.
GM says, "he's a Catholic, and seems to enjoy pestering Modag about his faith... Modag is obviously of mixed religious beliefs, and takes Aeric's pestering in stride"
Corin shows Aeric a statue.
Corin says, "(hopefully Aeric donates money to Corin, who is quickly running out of belongings.)"
GM says, "Aeric mentions several times how he knows he'll 'change the world someday'... he's well past his prime, though"
GM [to Corin]: well, Modag is pretty well-heeled and is helping you out here
Corin says, "good :)"
Corin asks Modag about his friends in jail.
GM says, "Aeric is quite willing to buy a few of the figurines from you. he is particularly interested in those of the Virgin Mary and Christ"
Corin happily sells anything Aeric wishes to buy.
GM says, "you'll need to leave Garomach's load of trade goods with him while you fill the carruca with provisions for Modag's hideout"
Corin says, "ok"
GM says, "incidentally, Modag cautions you not to mention the new star to Aeric or mention the hideout. Aeric isn't inquisitive about it."
GM says, "you get the provisions up to the hideout, which is a cave in the mountains. Modag has located a rock shelf high up which can be reached only by rope. this way, he can store food there for lengths of time without bears getting to it."
GM says, "you get everything packed away and Modag is quite grateful. he promises to help out in any way possible when you return to the city."
GM says, "you get back two days later, leaving the carruca with Aeric this time and walking in"
Corin stays with Modag as they approach the gates.
GM says, "so now we're caught up... it's two days after the events of the previous session."
GM says, "you arrive at the Cavillonum inner gate around noon, and Modag wants to check the news"
Corin reminds Modag that some people are looking for him.
GM says, "[Modag] it will be ok, just stick with me"
Corin says, "nods, but remains somewhat doubtful."
GM says, "Modag gets you by the inner gate without incident... the guards don't give you a second look"
Renard has disconnected.
GM curses Juno
Corin says, "(btw, did I overhear the news also?)"
GM says, "you walk together to the main square, and Modag reads the news posted there"
Renard has connected.
Corin asks him to read the news aloud.
GM says, "(news and announcements are posted in the town square for everyone to read as they pass by)"
GM says, "of course, you can't read, but Modag can"
Renard says, "ahem... juno insists on limiting my online time to about 4 seconds, so I had to switch to netzero (my ghost may have been lingering for the last several minutes""
GM says, "[Modag] look at this, Corin: a public trial for the Frankish spies is scheduled for this afternoon!"
GM says, "[Modag] unless there are other Frankish spies here in town, that must mean your friends"
Corin gasps. "Spies? They are not spies!"
GM says, "[Modag] maybe not, but that's what it says here"
Corin says, "Can you get them out?"
GM says, "[Modag] *shaking head* i thought i might speak with Lord Euric and see if i could smooth things over, but based on what is written here i don't see what i could do"
Corin says, "You have to try Modag. You promised you would!""
Corin says, "Whats the penaltly for being a spy, anyway?""
GM says, "[Modag] however, the judge will ask for witnesses who can vouch for the accused during the trial, and i will stand up for them then"
GM says, "[Modag] death, of course"
Corin gulps, rubbing his neck thoughtfully.
GM says, "[Modag] oh, not by the sword, probably. judges usually come up with more... creative... methods."
Corin says, "I really dont want to hear it, Modag. What do you think I should do?""
Corin says, "Modag, you have lots of money. Lets hire a bunch of men and break them out during the trial.""
GM says, "[Modag] i am happy to help you, Corin, but i cannot commit suicide to do so. if these friends of yours are actually spies, even in the judge's eyes, i would be implicating myself."
GM says, "[Modag] speaking on their behalf is bad enough, but i may be able to win them some leniency depending on what they've actually done."
Corin says, "well, they have done nothing! So there should be some leniency."
Corin says, "Faustulus mentioned a lawyer friend. Hopefully he will be here for it."
GM says, "[Modag] Lord Euric thinks they have done something, and Lord Gelbach is to be the judge. your benefactor Garomach and your friends are strangers here. what sort of trial do you expect it to be?"
GM says, "[Modag] it is customary that the defendants will be represented, and in this case a Greek advocatus named Phaedron has been named. i do not know if that is the one Faustulus spoke to, but he is most eloquent."
Corin says, "We have to make a plan!? If they get convicted, they will die. We must do something if the trial goes that way..."
GM says, "[Modag] if they are sentenced to die, the sentence will most likely be carried out tomorrow. we would have a little time to plan before that, but not much."
Corin says, "Can you go to Faustulus? Ask him about the lawyer, and also if he will be a character witness.""
GM says, "[Modag] the trial starts in two hours, so we must hurry in any case."
Corin says, "Do they mention Portia in the news?"
GM says, "[Modag] there is mention of seven spies, but no actualy names"
Corin says, "They grabbed her too, but took her from us. Maybe she is of some help."
Corin says, "seven eh?""
GM says, "[Modag] seven would include Garomach, your five friends, and Portia perhaps?"
Corin counts. "Me, Bodoni, Caralchis, Joseph, Renard, Garomach....and Portia, or me!"
Corin says, "wait i counted me twice."
GM says, "(ooc: and Johan)"
Corin says, "and Johan."
GM says, "(ooc: it would be in character to be a little confused about big numbers like 'seven')"
GM says, "[Modag] let us speak with Faustulus"
Corin nods. "Please, we gotta hurry!"
GM says, "you go to the inn and Faustulus is there"
GM says, "you don't see any special guards around now"
Corin says, "Faustulus, did you talk to that lawyer?"
Corin says, "my friends and Portia are on trial in 2 hours!"
GM says, "[Faustulus] yes, i know."
Corin says, "and?"
GM says, "[Faustulus] it's most tragic. i have sent a messenger to Portia's father, but i fear he will not return in time. i will, of course, speak on her behalf in the trial."
Corin says, "Will you speak on behalf of my friends also?"
GM says, "[Faustulus] certainly! Bodoni is an old friend of mine, i could not allow him to die!"
Corin nods solemnly. "Good. And this lawyer friend?"
GM says, "[Faustulus] he succeeded in being named the defense advocatus, and he will do his best."
Corin says, "ah, he is the Froneus guy Modag mentioned in the square."
GM says, "(ooc: Phaedron)"
Corin says, "(Corin is a little stressed)"
GM says, "[Faustulus] yes."
GM says, "brb"
Corin says, "(any ideas, guys?)"
Bodoni (Yeah, rescue us! Charge the guards, then -we- can get away. ;D)
Corin says, "(I may still do that. But the timing must be right.)"
Joseph says, "I was hoping Modog would know who to bribe"
Corin says, "(I Cant bust into jail. Maybe while htey are moving you.)"
Corin says, "(Modag wont get involved. But he may finance me.)"
Renard says, "I assume that Marshall Hrothgar will trade Euric's sister for us."
GM says, "back"
Corin says, "Modag, how muc hmoney can you lend me?"
GM says, "[Modag] lend, or give?"
Corin says, "well....we will try to repay you."
GM says, "[Modag] *smiles* either way... i am most grateful for your help with my little project. how much will you need?"
Corin thinks...and has difficulty coming up with an amount. "$1000?"
Bodoni (half a million dollars. ;D)
GM says, "[Modag] that is quite a lot of money, Corin. what will you use it for?"
Corin says, "I think it is best you do not know, Modag."
Corin says, "Then they cannot blame you."
GM says, "[Modag] i can give you half of that now. it will take several hours to get the other half."
Corin says, "Several hours? But the trial...."
Corin says, "ok, half now is better than none."
GM says, "[Modag] yes, the trial. i know!"
GM says, "[Modag] let us return to my apartment and i will give you the money. then you do what you need to do, but do not be late for the trial, if you wish to see it!"
Corin says, "I must hurry if I am able to do this before the trial. Lets go now!"
Corin turns to Faustulus, patting him on the shoulder. "Thanks for the help Faustulus. See you at the trial."
GM says, "[Faustulus] until later, then"
Corin hurries quickly to Modag's with Modag.
GM says, "you and modag rush off to his place, and he gives you a small bag of coins, some gold, some silver"
Corin thanks Modag, and runs out the door.
GM says, "[Modag] now hurry!"
Corin heads for the shiftiest part of town, loosening his sword at his belt.
GM says, "now i assume you're going to run away and join a convent? :)"
Corin enters a tavern that may have the hardened individuals that he is looking for.
GM says, "ok, you head down by the docks"
Corin looks for some tough foremen on the docks.
GM says, "there are many tough-looking guys around"
Corin says, "approaches one that looks like he could handle himself, and is somewhat of a leader."
GM says, "there's a guy bossing around a gang of loaders who are involved loading a barge"
Corin says, "G'day. Could I talk with you for a few? Alone, perhaps? I think it may be profitable to you."
GM says, "he's missing an ear and has a big scar down his face. looks pretty scary!"
GM says, "[foreman] i'm busy."
Corin says, "Me too. But I need to hire someone like yourself. ANd I have money.""
GM says, "[foreman] yeah? and what can someone like myself do for a boy like you?"
Corin looks around, "My friends are in jail. They are being moved in two hours. Probably by 4 guards or so. I want you to help me get them to escape."
Corin says, "I can pay you $750 to hire the men to do it. You keep whatever. Half up front.""
GM says, "[foreman] what'd your friends do, boy? muddy some noble's white robe?"
Bodoni (oh, no...High Treason.. ;D)
Corin grins. "Probably slept with his daughter. That's not important. Can you help me?"
GM says, "[foreman] i've got a job, boy, see? i don't need trouble anymore... i'm too old for it."
Corin says, "You just give me the men, and keep the money left over. No work for you.""
GM says, "[foreman] boy, you serious about this?"
Corin looks straight at the foreman. "I am dead serious about this. My friends are in trouble."
GM says, "[foreman] well... *chews his underlip* ok, let's see the money."
Corin looks closely at the foreman. "You gonna screw me on this? I'm desperate, and dont have much to live for. If i get crossed, I'll have only one intention....."
GM says, "[foreman] look, you serious or not? you came to me, remember?"
Corin nods, moves into some shadows, and tries to count out about $350. He hands it to the foreman. "The rest when they escape."
GM says, "you tell him where the trial is to be held and everything"
GM says, "he agrees, takes the money, and goes to talk to his gang"
GM says, "what now, Corin?"
Corin watches them briefly, and returns to the square.
Corin keeps a close eye out for guards.
Corin says, "(ok gang, do i break you out before or after the trial?)"
GM says, "at the square, people have begun to set up for the trial. a large marble table has been set up with a luxurious chair behind it."
Corin says, "(trial may go favorably)"
Bodoni (Wait till after. Last act)
Corin says, "(all agree?)"
Joseph says, "yes, wait"
GM says, "corin, you told the foreman that they were being moved in two hours and to break them out then!"
Corin says, "(well, I guess that settles that *grin*)"
Corin tries to set up an inconspicuous spot between the jail and the square.
Corin says, "(where he thinks they may attack the guards.)"
GM says, "two smaller wooden tables are set up near the marble table and facing it. a crowd is starting to gather. there are many guards around, probably a score or so, keeping the crowds back."
Bodoni (Methinks Renard tis passed out at yon keys.. ;D)
GM says, "back at prison..."
Corin says, "(lol)"
GM says, "yeah, 21 minutes of idle time is a lot... Renard, you still there?"
Bodoni (maybe the asprins were too much for him. :))
Renard groans
GM thinks that counts as 'being there'
Corin says, "(rofl)"
Corin says, "(have a bloody mary or something. A little of the dog that bit ya.)"
GM says, "so, back at the prison... the door opens and there are guards and the hook-nosed warden there"
Bodoni stands up
Corin says, "(punch the hooknose out!)"
GM says, "[warden] well, it's your lucky day, fellows. you'll be having a public trial shortly to determine your fate."
GM says, "[warden] (to the guards) get the chains on them and bring them out"
Joseph says, "what are the charges?"
Bodoni says, "I cannot tell ye how overjoyed we are, good warden."
GM says, "[warden] there will be an advocatus to speak with you when you get there."
GM says, "the guards apply the chains. your ankles are chained together..."
GM says, "and your wrists are bound by ropes and you are each roped together in a line as before"
Corin says, "(oh good)"
GM says, "the order is Joseph, Johan, Renard, Bodoni, Caralchis"
GM says, "shall i assume there is no resistance? :)"
Bodoni (Nope. Not me. No resist here..)
Corin says, "(vicious)"
Joseph says, "not at the moment :-)"
GM says, "there are four guards, wearing gleaming segmented armor and longswords. they march you out of the prison and you are blinded by your first glimpse of full sunlight in days."
Bodoni grumbles a bit about the sun
Renard says, "Justice is forthcoming - I feel it!"
Corin watches closely, looking about for the men.
Bodoni says, "Oh, aye, Renard. I'm sure ~justice~ will be served."
Joseph says, "are Portia and Garomach here?"
GM says, "you still haven't seen Portia or Garomach"
GM says, "crowds line the streets, jeering at you as you are marched toward the main square"
Corin feels his heart quicken.
GM says, "you are spit on several times and take a few rotten vegetable hits in various parts of the body"
GM says, "no damage, though :) aren't i generous?"
Bodoni bares it with what dignity he can muster
GM says, "the guards are arrayed two in front and two behind. you come into the view of Corin as you near the main square"
Corin throws at rotten tomato at Guard 1. (Just kidding)
GM says, "Corin, you have climbed partway up a pillar of a nearby building to get a better view, since you are shorter than most of the crown"
Bodoni doesn't aknowledge Corin as to keep from possibly giving him away
Corin says, "(Did I buy a bow, oh generous GM?)"
GM says, "you spot a small knot of toughs making its way through the crowd. one of them is the foreman you spoke to."
Corin says, "(how small?)"
GM says, "nope, you don't have a bow"
GM says, "there are five of them. you can't see how they are armed through the crowd, but they aren't wearing armor."
Corin says, "This isn't gonna be pretty." Corin mutters to himself."
GM says, "it occurs to you that the crown might react pretty badly to your friends if the guards weren't there to keep order"
GM says, "crown = crowd"
Corin says, "(should I stop them?)"
Corin climbs down and runs towards the toughies.
GM says, "you make your way through the crowd, heading for where you think they were"
GM says, "roll against the better of your DX and ST"
Corin tries to get to the foreman before he gets to the guards.
Corin says, "(DX)"
Corin rolls 3 + 0.
Result [2 1 6] = 9 + 0 = 9.
GM says, "ok, you slip through the crowd fairly readily. the crowd is surging on all sides of you, shouting insults and hurling curses at the accused. you reach the foreman and his gang as they are just 10 yards or so from the guards"
Corin says, "wait" Corin hisses to the foreman."
Corin says, "grabs his arm."
Corin says, "((urgggg))"
GM says, "[foreman] what? *incredulously* why wait?"
Corin says, "Wait until after the trial. If they get off, you keep the money for nothing. If they are guilty, we break 'em out, and then you get more money.""
GM says, "you see now that the gang has knives and maces"
Corin says, "You think you can take those 4 guards anyway?""
GM says, "[foreman] i thought you said to attack when they were being moved, before the trial?"
GM says, "(he's whispering, of course... no one in the crowd is trying to hear what you're talking about - they're focused on the prisoners)"
Corin says, "my mistake. I'll make the balance add up to $800 instead for waiting thru the trial.""
Bodoni says, "Ye still spouting about justice, Renard?""
GM says, "the foreman nods, signals to his men, and they start to follow the crowds toward the square"
GM says, "the prisoners are unaware of all of this, and didn't glimpse Corin in the crowd"
Renard says, "Bodoni, ye of little faith..."
Corin yells when they are near "Praesus will live!" and slips thru the crowd to his previous spot.
Bodoni looks somewhat annoyed "I hath faith, but I am not blind. For pity's sake man, look about ye."
GM says, "you are led into the square, through a circle of guards and toward one of the wooden tables. there is a man there. still no Portia or Garomach, though."
GM says, "[Phaedron] i am Phaedron, your advocatus."
Renard says, "Where is Garomach and Portia?"
GM says, "[Phaedron] i have spoken with Faustulus, but they would not allow me to speak with you, so we have only a few minutes before the trial begins."
Bodoni says, "Aye, and what are we being charged with?"
GM says, "[Phaedron] they should be here shortly... and there comes Garomach now. Portia should not be far behind."
Corin says, "(how is Portia bound and guarded?)"
Bodoni (Corin -would- want to know that. :P)
GM says, "he points, and you see Garomach being led in as well. he's wearing leg irons as well, his wrists are roped together, and his face is heavily bruised and he has fresh cuts on his face and arms"
Corin braces himself as he sees how roughly Garomach has been treated.
Bodoni frows to Renard "Aye, Renard. ~Justice~, indeed."
GM says, "Garomach is led near to where you are standing, and he looks at you with pitiful eyes. "i am sorry for all of this.""
Joseph says, "M'lord, what is this all about?"
GM says, "[Phaedron] we must hurry. Faustulus could not tell me much. Garomach, your story is unknown to any of us... please enlighten us."
GM says, "Garomach speaks with difficulty because of swelling around the mouth, but he explain a bit..."
GM says, "[Garomach] i will take the blame for the rest of you. i am your Lord, it is my responsibility..."
GM says, "[Garomach] it all starts with Perfu, of course. suffice it to say that Faisilde, Greta, and a girl in Tolosa are all pawns in a terrible demand of his"
GM says, "(recall Faisilde, btw?)"
Bodoni (Yup... :))
Joseph says, "begging your pardon, m'lord, Euric thinks you (or lord Hrothgar) kidnapped Greta."
GM says, "[Garomach] with Faisilde dead, Clovis realized he had to prevent the Visigoths or Burgundians from gaining an advantage in gaining Perfu's favor"
GM says, "[Garomach] i lied to you all. the girl in Tolosa we were going to... deal with... was no relation to Miraguntha. she was an innocent girl who was to be traded to Perfu in exchange for his alliance."
GM says, "[Garomach] now everything has come crashing down around us..."
GM says, "[Phaedron] you admit all of these things? i am not sure i can help you, Lord Garomach."
Renard says, "This what comes from dealing with the devil! What's Perfu's interest in young girls?"
Joseph says, "can we trade Greta for our freedom?"
Renard asks with an innocent face
GM says, "[Garomach] help my faithful countrymen, then. they are innocent of all of this."
Bodoni 's face is etched with betrayal
GM says, "[Garomach] i do not think Marshal Hrothgar would be willing to trade Greta for the likes of us."
GM says, "[Phaedron] they have brought Portia. the trial will surely start soon."
GM says, "Portia is led in, also in leg irons and tied wrists. she is holding up stoically, trying to wear the rotten egg that is running down the left side of her face with dignity."
Bodoni angrily to no one in particular "This is what faith in justice has brought upon our charge."
GM says, "Phaedron wipes her face and says to her, "i have spoken with Faustulus. he has sent for your father, but he has not yet arrived. it may be a few more days.""
Bodoni girts his teeth, his face a deep shade of red
Joseph says, "(to Garomach and the lawyer)during interrigation we swore we didn't know anything about Greta. Is there any way to make them believe it?"
GM says, "Portia closes her eyes, and a tear escapes and rolls down her cheek, but she opens them again and says firmly, "i would prefer that he not see me in such indignity anyway.""
Bodoni (girts=grits)
GM says, "[Phaedron] (to joseph) they may believe it, but it may not matter. you were a party to this business, whether of your knowledge or not. you are also Franks, and this does not help you. you do not have all of the rights a Burgundian might have."
Joseph says, "so we really can't talk our way out of this."
Bodoni says, "Aye, ~justice~ will be served this day. I have no illusions about the outcome of this ~trial~."
Corin looks in the crowd and sees a fat lady humming.
GM says, "the crowd parts once again, and Lord Euric, with an entourage of guards and servants, strolls into the square. he looks at the prisoners coldly and takes his place near the other table."
Renard says, "Lord, why are these girls so important to Perfu?"
GM says, "(Bodoni recalls the good old days of Roman Imperial justice :)"
Joseph says, "crucifiction?"
GM says, "[Garomach] i could only guess, Renard."
Bodoni says, "HE does not know, Renard. We are pawns of a greater evil. All of us."
GM says, "shall we stop here and have the trial next session? it is noon."
Corin says, "((I have some time *smile*))"
Bodoni (I can go longer but if you want to, it's fine with me.)
Renard [to GM]: we could end on the opening statements...
GM has reconnected.
Joseph says, "next week on Perry Mason..."
GM says, "ok, if everyone can stick around for 10-15 minutes, we'll start it up"
Corin says, "sounds good"
Joseph says, "no problem"
GM says, "(that was weird... i lost one connection there but the other one stayed open...)"
Bodoni (Sure thing)
GM says, "an ornately-dressed man with a booming voice steps in front of the marble table. he is holding a scroll in one hand and a set of scales in the other, and he reads from the scroll:"
GM says, "[scroll] Today our venerated fathers will determine the fate of a most insidious evil that has settled upon our fair city."
Bodoni looks like his head is going to explode, his face a deeper shade of red than anyone has ever seen
GM says, "[scroll] The accused were captured only days ago, and have committed acts of war against the Regnum Burgundiorum."
GM says, "[scroll] Lord Euric, son of the late patrician Lord Pedronius, will represent the kingdom. Phaedron will represent the accused."
GM says, "[scroll] The most fair Lord Gelbach shall preside."
GM says, "[scroll] Let these scales represent the ideal of justice in this matter!"
GM says, "he steps back, placing the scales on the marble table"
Bodoni face begins to develop a pronounced facial tick at the words and the scale
GM says, "Lord Gelbach then steps forward, taking a seat behind the marble table. he gathers his papers, clears his throat, and speaks"
GM says, "[Gelbach] Lord Euric, you have accused the prisoners of most grievous crimes. Please present this to the court."
GM says, "[Euric] Thank you, Lord Gelbach. The seven accused are parties to a conspiracy of war against our fair kingdom."
GM says, "[Euric] They are Franks, and infiltrated our city to gather information critical to any sort of war effort."
GM says, "[Euric] They have also spearheaded what has now become a successful effort to kidnap my sister, the Lady Greta!"
GM says, "[Euric] These are acts of an undeclared war. As such, the prisoners should be treated as prisoners of war and dealt with accordingly."
GM says, "[Gelbach] Very well, Lord Euric. You will have an opportunity to question the prisoners after the defense advocatus has spoken on their behalf."
GM says, "[Phaedron] Thank you, Lord Gelbach."
Corin says, "(reminisces of the court procedure in Animal House movie, and wants to cough loudly "Bullsh**t!")"
GM says, "[Phaedron] Lord, no war has been declared by the Franks. The accused are willing to accept whatever penalty is due their crimes, but they are not equally culpable of the crimes Lord Euric has spoken of."
GM says, "[Phaedron] For example..."
GM says, "[Lord Gelbach] Do you speak ill of Lord Euric's credibility?"
GM says, "[Phaedron] Of course not, milord. I am concerned merely that his facts may not be accurate."
GM says, "[Lord Gelbach] You will be careful from now on not to cast aspersions on a venerable city father, Phaedron."
GM says, "[Phaedron] Yes, milord. I ask your pardon and am grateful for you guidance in this matter. I do not wish to offend."
Bodoni (Are those kangaroos I hear? ;D)
GM says, "[Phaedron] Simply put, the Lady Portia is only an acquiantance of the accused. I will argue that she is entirely innocent, and has been accused only by unlucky association."
GM says, "[Phaedron] As for the others, only Lord Garomach was aware of the scope of the plans, and even he did not actually commit all of the crimes he is accused of. I will show that he did not kidnap Lady Greta and had no plans to do so or even knowledge that such a thing might be attempted."
Bodoni is unsure where Phaedron is going but is glad to see he is barganing for our charge's release from this matter
GM says, "[Phaedron] Joseph, Renard, Johan, Caralchis and Bodoni were Lord Garomach's servants, innocent of any conspiracy or scheme and accused only by unlucky association."
GM says, "[Lord Gelbach] We shall see about that, Phaedron. Lord Euric, you may question the accused."
GM says, "*** END SESSION ***"
