GM says, "*** START SESSION ***"
Bodoni says, "He moving about? Trying to throw the GM off the trail? ;D"
GM [to Bodoni]: yes, and maybe.
Corin says, "(nothing worse than that Sunday morning call when hung over :P)"
GM says, "so to recap from last time."
GM says, "everyone is reunited (and it feels so right) at long last, but your troubles are hardly over."
GM says, "you've found a handy cul-de-sac in some scrubby evergreen woods near the road that leads from Euric's villa towards the city, and have holed up here for the night."
GM says, "Joseph still has heavy stone blocks chained to his wrists."
Corin says, "(Did we move much after I missed the messenger?)"
GM says, "a rider, presumably sent by Euric, went by you a while back, heading for the city, so you may assume that the city guards are alerted."
GM [to Corin]: you moved far enough.
Renard says, "Corin, can you sneak into the City tonight, or should you go at dawn?"
Corin looks at the others, "So,want me to go talk to Augax?"
Bodoni keeps watch for anything approaching, with care of course
Corin says, "Dunno about sneaking in, but I can try."
Renard says, "Yea, I think he should come rescue us."
Bodoni still watching, but says off handedly "Ye can do it lad. You're the best sneaker we have."
Corin says, "I'm not marked, so I may be able to stroll in.""
Renard says, "Would anyone recognize you Corin? Have you been identified do you think by Euric or his men? Granted, you would be easy to recognize if a description was passed around..."
Corin shrugs, "am I getting famous?" he grins boyishly.
GM says, "at night, it's more difficult to get past the gate guards. there's less traffic, and they check people more closely. the gates are normally closed at night, with just the sally door opened to allow people in or out."
Corin says, "Maybe at dawn, when the traffic picks up, will be the best time.""
GM says, "of course, the gate guards are notoriously bribable. :)"
Renard says, "When light goes up, will we be more visible from the road?"
GM says, "not here, but of course you will be if you move. there isn't heavy undergrowth."
GM says, "where you are, you're hidden from the road by terrain, so you'd still be hidden during the day."
Renard says, "We should just hole up, then, and wait. Cold food only, and quiet. If we are found, though, where shall we agree to meet with Corin?"
Bodoni says, "Someplace along the way that could provide better coverage than this, I'd wager."
Corin says, "Anyone have money?""
Bodoni shakes his head in the negative
Caralchis says, "all our money got taken away by the pohleece, didn't it?"
GM says, "corin remembers that Modag's strange farmer friend, Aeric, might be a place to hide for a time."
GM says, "corin's the only one with money, too."
Corin says, "(Where is Aeric, near the hidewaway plavce of Modags?)"
Renard says, "Give us directions to Aeric's then, and we'll meet there if discovered here. You'll know by the blood on the ground :)"
GM says, "Aeric's farm is perhaps five miles south of here, and easy enough to find."
Corin says, "Maybe you should just head there now""
Corin gives them the directions.
Corin says, "While it still doark out 'ere.""
GM says, "so what's the plan?"
Corin says, "(how much money do I have left?)"
Renard says, "I figure we're safer here, not making noise, but we can take a vote..."
Corin says, "I vote Aeric's""
Joseph says, "with these things chained to my wrists, I'd rather stay here. How much open territory would we have to go through to get to Aeric's?"
Caralchis says, "which way is the city from here? east?"
Bodoni (I say the father we're from Euric's the better. He make take it into his mind to search about with guards)
Bodoni (father=farther)
GM [to Caralchis]: yes
Corin nods. "I agree, maybe the farmer can get those things off ya wrist."
Caralchis says, "so if we went to Aeric's place we'd be going generally away from the city"
Corin says, "although wait for Augax to help with that. Aeric may turn you in.""
GM [to Caralchis]: yep, that would be fair to say.
Joseph says, "if we're going to Aeric's we better go soon before it gets light."
GM [to Corin]: true, going to Aeric would mean trusting him. and those chains do sort of limit the stories you can tell him.
Corin says, "Keep Joseph's chains hidden from Aeric, and jsut ask him for shelter.""
Corin says, "I'll be back with Augax, hopefully...""
GM says, "when a man has two 60-pound stones chained to his arms, hiding the chains means hiding the man. :)"
Corin says, "lol"
Corin says, "Tell him Modag sent you to him. Lie a little.""
Corin says, "He wont turn you in until he at least speaks to Modag. And use my name, in case he does talk to Modag. Modag will figure it out.""
Corin says, "Ok?" Corin stands, ready to head to the city."
Renard says, "So you folks don't think it makes plain common sense to lay here quiet for 10 hours or so until Augax can come fetch us? "
Corin says, "Augax or the guards. We're a stone throw from Euric's. And in daylight, not well hidden."
Caralchis says, "let's not forget about Portia, either"
Corin says, "although if you sit still, you may be ok"
Caralchis says, "but we shouldn't try and worry about her now"
Corin grimaces.
GM chuckles.
Corin says, "ok, how about this, I'll head west out of the city with Augax, If you aint here, I'll go to Aerics."
Corin says, "You guys decide where to hide."
Corin stands, and slings his bow across his back. He checks his pouch, thinking of the guards.
Corin begins to walk towards the city, keeping to the edge of the road.
Caralchis says, "that sounds good.. it allows for more contingencies. Take care Corin, and stay out of trouble if you can help it."
Corin calls back, "dont worry about me!"
Bodoni to the others, low "Do you think the lad'll make it?"
GM says, "so we still need to know what the other five of you are doing. if you are going to sit tight, i'll just deal with Corin's story first."
Caralchis says, "he's a farily erratic young lad, but he's managed very well when we were all locked up"
Renard votes for here, and presumable Johan seconds him...
Bodoni (I'm for trying to make it to the farm. Sitting where we are feels sorta dangerous)
Corin takes out his pouch as he walks and separates his money. He leaves $50 in the pouch and hides the rest on his person in other lots.
GM says, "Johan follows along with his older and wiser brother, as usual."
Caralchis looks at the others, "I don't have an overriding preference, but the farm seems safer"
Corin says, "(brb...getting coffe)"
Caralchis (what time of year is it btw?)
Joseph says, "I'll follow you guys"
GM [to Caralchis]: it is still early summer, early june-ish.
Caralchis (k)
GM says, "looks like a split decision - two for the farm, two for staying put, and one abstaining. where's cheney to break the tie?"
GM says, "(and don't say: having heart surgery)"
Joseph says, "I'll follow Bodoni, to the farm"
Renard says, "It's up to Joseph -- he's the one with the rocks chained to 'im. "
GM says, "does anyone have Leadership?"
Bodoni (not I)
Caralchis says, "I agree, if the man with the stones on his arm doesn't mind the walking, I'm all for it"
Renard shrugs, "Joseph has spoken, let's go.
Corin says, "(b)"
Bodoni says, "Alright, then." "
Bodoni helps with some of the weight by holding up one of the stones Joseph is lugging about
GM says, "ok, you head on out, moving generally south. renard has an uncanny sense for following the directions corin gave you."
GM says, "and we'll return to that shortly. switching to corin..."
Corin grins to himself as he walks, remembering the arrow he put in that guard's head.
Bodoni nods impressively at Renard's talent
GM [to Corin]: you meet no one along the road at this late hour, and presently find yourself a couple of hundred yards from the city gates
Corin looks to see how many guards are at the gate.
Corin says, "(how long to circle the city and enter a different gate?)"
GM [to Corin]: the wall is a dark mass lying low against the horizon, with a faint glow of late city life behind. there is a glow of torchlight low on the wall by the road, where the sally door must be.
GM [to Corin]: hmmmm... a good twenty minutes in broad daylight and with no worries. probably take you twice that at night.
Corin takes a deep breath, and walks boldly towards the gates.
GM [to Corin]: as you approach, you can see more and more clearly that the sally door has a barred window. there are torches on either side of the door, lighting the area outside the door. shadows move behind the bars.
Corin walks up to the sally door and knocks, somewhat timidly.
GM [to Corin]: when you walk right up to the door, you can see two guards within, playing some sort of game. they don't look up until you knock.
GM [to Corin]: when you do, though, one of them gets up and walks over. "Yeah?" he grunts.
Corin says, "uhh, hi. Its my birthday, and me dad sent me to the city to ummmmm meet a girl. He gave me some money, see?""
Corin shows his pouch with the $50 in it.
Corin says, "Are there girls in there?""
GM [to Corin]: [guard] at this time o'night? the only girls you'll find at this hour'll be well used, i can tell ya.
Corin says, "well, i guess thats ok.""
Corin says, "Can you let me in to see them?""
GM [to Corin]: [guard] there aren't any girls in 'ERE, boy. you'll have to go into the city proper fer that.
GM [to Corin]: [guard] in any case, i hope yer pa gave yer enough to cover the gate tax.
Corin says, "I can share me dads money wid you, if you like. How do i get into the city proper then?""
Corin peers past the guard, trying to see a path through.
GM [to Corin]: [guard] it'll run ye 10 folles. hand it over and i'll let ye in.
GM says, "(ooc: $10)"
Corin takes out 12 folles and hands it to the guard. "hey, thanks for helping. IS that enough?"
GM [to Corin]: [guard] just right.
Corin says, "me numbers aint good. Dad dont teach me much.""
GM says, "he opens the heavy iron sally door and lets you pass. the guards were sitting in a stone corridor set into the wall, and passing through the corridor, you reach another door, which is open, and then move into the city."
Corin heads quickly towards the inn Augax is at, keeping to the shadows.
GM says, "you make it there with no trouble."
Corin enters the inn and looks around for Augax.
GM says, "the door is barred - the place is closed for the night."
Corin curses to himself. He looks around to see if there are guards about.
GM says, "nope"
Corin studies the building, and walks around it, trying to see an open window.
GM says, "the bottom floor has nothing open. the upper floor, where the guest rooms are, has a few open windows."
Corin wonders what the others decided to do, and whether he should just wait until daybreak for the inn to open.
Corin looks at the windows on the 2nd floor, and tries to see if it is climbable.
Corin says, "(do i know which room is Augax's?)"
GM says, "not easily climbable, but you're a good climber."
GM says, "unfortunately, you don't know which is Augax' room. you've only spoken to him out in the stables, where the slaves were staying."
Corin decides to take a chance, because dawn could bring all new trouble.
Corin begins to climb to an open window, quietly as he can.
GM says, "ok, roll climbing. you're at a penalty."
Corin rolls 3 + 0.
Result [1 1 1] = 3 + 0 = 3.
Corin says, "rofl"
Caralchis says, "holy shit"
Renard - Corin has hacked your dice roller, James
Corin says, "heh"
GM says, "hehe"
Bodoni (Let's hear it for da master climber! Ar! ;D)
GM says, "it's much easier than you thought. before you know it, you have your hands on the sill"
Corin slips quietly inside the room.
GM says, "you peek over the sill first, and see an occupied bedroom."
Corin says, "(sleeping)"
Corin says, "(?_"
GM says, "yep, sleeping."
GM grins
Corin says, "(female? only kidding.)"
GM says, "one person, turned away from you."
Bodoni (Our savior has turned into a peeping tom ;D)
Corin says, "(does it look like it may be Augax?)"
GM says, "hmmm... roll your IQ."
Corin rolls 3 + 0.
Result [2 1 1] = 4 + 0 = 4.
Corin says, "heh"
GM says, "oh, come on!"
Corin says, "lol"
GM says, "it's not Augax - you can tell from the hair, which is the wrong color."
Caralchis says, "he should be able to tell this person's life and family from that roll..."
Corin tries to shimmy along the sill to the next window.
GM says, "another climbing roll"
Corin rolls 3 + 0.
Result [5 1 6] = 12 + 0 = 12.
Corin says, "booo"
Renard [to GM]: don't you think the critical success should count for the whole building?
Corin says, "(i like renard's idea.)"
GM [to Renard]: for how long? forever? he's mastered this building, period?
Corin says, "there's always a critic :)"
Renard [to GM]: He's on a ledge, or something, and figured out a trick that let's him climb from sill to sill. I dunno - a crit should mean *something*
GM says, "in any case, your 12 is good enough - like i said, you're a good climber, and you make it across to another window."
Corin peers inside.
Corin tries to see if its Augax.
Corin rolls 3 + 0.
Result [1 5 6] = 12 + 0 = 12.
GM says, "it's easier this time - the person is lying face up, and you can see that it is indeed Augax."
Corin says, "(how close is the bed to the window?""
GM says, "two yards, no more"
Corin slips inside the window, staying away from the bed in case he jumps up armed.
GM says, "gimme a stealth roll"
Corin rolls 3 + 0.
Result [6 2 6] = 14 + 0 = 14.
GM says, "you slip inside, and Augax doesn't react."
GM says, "he's snoring softly."
Corin whispers, "pssssst! Augax! Wake up! Its me, Corin!"
Corin says quietly, "pssssst! Augax! Wake up! Its me, Corin!"
Corin says, "whispers, "didnt know that""
GM says, "he opens his eyes, looks quickly about the room, and then focuses on you. he doesn't look foggy from sleep at all."
GM says, "[Augax] Corin? what are you doing here? and how'd you get here?"
Corin says, "Sorry to wake you. The window was the only way in, door downstairs is locked.""
Corin says, "Euric and his guards are very angry. We have Joseph, and they are all hiding outside the city.""
GM says, "[Augax] (sighing) i never should have given them leave for that foolhardy plan."
GM says, "[Augax] so Euric is alerted, eh?"
Corin says, "Its ok, we have succeeded. Its just that they cant enter the city right now.""
Corin says, "yes, you could say that."
GM says, "[Augax] you call that 'success'? Euric is looking for you, which means he's going to be looking for me, and that's 'success'?"
Corin says, "He wont be looking for you. I dont think that connection has been made."
GM says, "[Augax] he knows I bought the others."
Corin says, "Euric himself did not see any of us. Only some dumb guards. He may think that I myself hired some people to help Joseph. I can let that rumor out in the city uif you like.""
Corin says, "Draw the attention away from you.""
GM says, "[Augax] so he knows Joseph was sprung, but not who did it?"
Corin nods.
Corin says, "I can pay someone to tell Euric that it was me and some hoods who did it, ok?""
GM says, "[Augax] (considering) it's an awful risk, but we only have to make it one day, and then i'll be ready to leave."
GM says, "[Augax] ok, here's what we'll do. it's not a risk i want to take, but your idea still has merit. i'm going to leave early, this coming morning instead of the following daybreak. we'll have to complete our provisions farther down the river."
GM says, "[Augax] you go tell your friends that we'll pick them up on the way, and then get back here. be back at this inn by dawn."
Corin says, "which direction will we be travelling when we leave the city? And do I start the rumor?""
Corin says, "They expect to be picked up on the way. No need to tell them."
GM says, "[Augax] we're going to the sea, boy, and that means south. your friends - my property, may i remind you - should wait by the river. we'll be traveling by barge, and we'll stop and pick them up. we'll arrange a sign - here, i'll give you a mirror."
GM says, "[Augax] tell them to flash it at the barge when they spot us. but you come back here by dawn. i do want you to start that rumor, to cover our trail. you'll be coming with me."
GM says, "brb"
Corin hesitates. "ok...coming in and out of the city aint easy though, or cheap for that matter. The guards expect money.
GM says, "[Augax] so how'd you get in?"
Corin says, "I have a little money. Got a horse I can use to catch up with the others faster?""
GM says, "he looks at you incredulously, then shakes his head."
Corin grins. Never hurts to ask."
Corin says, "(Aeric's farm to the south too right?)"
GM says, "(ooc: yes, by a happy coincidence)"
Corin says, "(can they get to the river by morning?)"
GM says, "(ooc: shouldn't be a problem. of course, *you'll* be doing a lot of walking. :)"
Corin nods wearily. "Ok, see you at dawn, Augax."
Corin heads for the window.
GM says, "[Augax] good luck."
Corin says, "heh. yeah, I'll need it."
Corin slips out the window and climbs down.
GM says, "as you climb back out the window, you see him rise and begin to dress."
GM says, "switching back to the others..."
Caralchis helps Joseph out carrying the brick, unless he doesn't want me to
Bodoni keeping a look out for any problems while lugging Joseph's other brick
GM says, "the five of you walk slowly along trails, through varying woods and open farmland, until you arrive at the farm that you think must be Aeric's."
Caralchis (Joseph.. you should spend some points on a brick and chain weapon skill)
GM says, "it's buttoned up for the night, with no lights anywhere."
Joseph says, "is there a barn or something we could wait in until sunrise?"
Renard says, "I'll scout around quickly..."
GM [to Renard]: ok, you start for the farm.
GM [to Renard]: you can see only one building, of logs with a thatch roof. pretty good-sized, though.
Renard [to GM]: no barn or shed?
GM [to Renard]: not as a separate building. there might be a room housing animals attached to the room for the people, though.
GM [to Renard]: a dog starts to bark.
Renard runs back to the guys
GM says, "the dog keeps barking. from inside you hear a shout, "shut up!" the dog gives another bark or two, then stops."
Caralchis chuckles very quietly
Caralchis (did it sound like the barking of a big dog?)
GM says, "it was a baritone bark. big enough."
Bodoni frowns knowing a dog will make settlement difficult
Renard says, "So do we approach this Aeric, or camp out here and wait for Augax in the morning?"
Caralchis says, ".. assuming Augax will come and fetch us.."
Bodoni says, "I wary of this fellow. We don't know him, and the dog will surely alet him to our approach."
Bodoni (I=I'm)
Joseph says, "Aeric might look on us less kindly if we wake him up in the dark than if we wait for daylight after he's had a good breakfast. "
Bodoni says, "I say we find some nearby cover, and wait 'til sunbreak."
Renard [to caralchis:]: after paying that much for us? I figure he'd chose us over his own mother!
Caralchis nods
Bodoni says, "We can take turns on watch and keep an eye out for either Corin or Augax's approach."
GM says, "won't be easy to find cover near here - it's open farmland. quite flat. the fields are separated by rows of trees, but they are very narrow rows."
Bodoni looking about "Some cover is better than no cover. Let's find the best be can, and keep watch.
Renard [to GM]: how much area is there? Surely there is a copse of trees somewhere?
Bodoni (be=we)
Caralchis says, "we could dress up like scarecrows"
GM [to Renard]: sure, if you went far enough from the farmhouse, you could find cover. i'm assuming you want to stay near the farmhouse, and near the path of corin/augax's likely approach.
GM [to Renard]: but if not, you could find decent cover.
Renard says, "Well, we either wake Aeric up now, or sleep a few hours in the trees off the property, and approach him in the morning"
Bodoni says, "I have a solution. One of us can stay here, making due with the cover that's available. The rest may venture deeper in, finding more suitable cover."
Renard says, "We can send Joseph in to meet Aeric, and the rest of us can sleep out. Surely he will meet with more sympathy than a horde of slaves."
Bodoni frowns at that idea "I dislike that idea, but I suppose it is up to Joseph ultimately."
Renard says, "That will perhaps give Aeric time to figure out how to chop off those chains. Surely he has some tools."
Joseph says, "I've got a slave brand on my shoulder, a loin cloth around my waist and two 60lb blocks chained to my wrists. Am I the first thing Aeric wants to see?"
Joseph says, "GM, what's the punishment for helping runaway slaves?"
GM [to Joseph]: hmmmm.... probably death. i know that sounds extreme, but keeping slaves in line was a MAJOR, HIGHLY important political goal.
Renard [to Joseph:]: we're here to back you up. For Aeric to turn you in, he'd have to leave and report you. We'll be on the watch from the perimeter
GM says, "(ooc: also, they didn't imprison people, for the most part, except to await trial and such. punishment was basically death, exile, fines, or slavery.)"
Joseph says, "(ooc) I'll take exile for 500, Alex"
Corin says, "(ooc: the daily double! Both get exiled!)"
Joseph says, "well, I guess we should get this underway. What time is is now?"
GM says, "caralchis is the most 'gentlemanly' of your party, and would probably make the best first impression if you're going for that."
GM says, "it's around 2am or so. dawn in four hours. that's give or take as much as an hour, unless one of you has absolute timing."
Joseph says, "Caralchis, would you be willing to talk to Aeric for us?"
Caralchis says, "I suppose"
Renard says, "We don't have to approach Aeric at all, if we don't want to put him in the position of aiding an escaped slave."
Caralchis says, "though he probably would have the tools to get the blocks off Joseph.. or would he?"
GM says, "chances are he has an axe, at least."
Bodoni says, "I'm not certain about trusting this fellow. Besides, I'm sure Augax will have some means to remove those chains."
Caralchis says, "What would Augax want with someone else"
Renard says, "Let's decide whether we wait til morning or not."
Caralchis says, "'s slave with stones attatched to his hands anyway"
Caralchis (damn enter key gettin in me way!)
Joseph says, "I say we wait until the sun comes up, we're well hidden until then."
GM says, "i don't hear any argument."
Caralchis listens
Caralchis nods
Joseph says, "fast forward to sun up?"
Bodoni (sounds alright to me. Someone needs to pick up the leadership, skill. Heh. ;D)
GM says, "ok then. let's get Perception rolls from everyone."
Bodoni rolls 3 + 0.
Result [4 3 6] = 13 + 0 = 13.
Joseph rolls 3 + 0.
Result [3 4 1] = 8 + 0 = 8.
Caralchis rolls 3 + 0.
Result [6 1 3] = 10 + 0 = 10.
Renard rolls 3 + 0.
Result [3 6 4] = 13 + 0 = 13.
Corin waves his arms when he sees the others.
Corin hurries wearily towards them.
Corin says, "Bodoni, Renard! its me, Corin!"
Renard says, "Right. Looks like God is on our side, in this endeavor. No casualties!"
Joseph waits eagerly for Corin to tell us the news.
Bodoni says, "Glad to see you made it, lad."
Corin nods. "I got in and met Augax."
Bodoni nods
Corin says, "You must hurry south towards the river. Meet us on a barge. Here. take this mirror.""
Corin says, "Signal us when you see the barge.""
Corin says, "Augax is leaving at dawn.""
Joseph says, "you didn't happen to bring an axe or anything, did you Corin?"
Corin tries to smile, but has little energy left.
Corin says, "No, but I have to go meet Augax now. He wants me back at dawn to try and divert the attention from him."
Renard says, "Alright, no need to wake Aeric. Let's head to the bank."
Bodoni takes the mirror, and stands a bit
Corin says, "I will meet you on the barge.""
Corin says, "If all goes well."
Caralchis says, "Let us pray it will, see you soon"
Corin grins. "Been lucky so far."
Corin says, "Know how to get to the river?"
Joseph says, "not exactly, do you?"
GM says, "(you know that if you go west, you can't miss it.)"
Corin points west. "Cant miss it."
Corin says, "See you in a few hours."
Corin heads back towards the city.
Renard [Guest] has arrived.
GM says, "(man, cell phones really do make things easier, don't they?)"
Renard_ [Guest] says, "Let' myself get disconnected..."
Joseph says, "no problem then. Let's not get Aeric in trouble, there's probably lots of places to hide near the river."
GM says, "you make your way west, and presently can smell the faint rotting-fish odor of slow-moving water."
Bodoni nods "We should get going, Caralchis, help me with Joseph's chains."
GM says, "the banks of the river are heavily wooded, so it's easy to find good cover there. you settle down to wait."
GM says, "anything you want to do before dawn?"
Renard_ [Guest] says, "Everyone get a couple of hours of sleep"
Bodoni says, "You go ahead. I'll keep watch"
Joseph is exhausted from the weight of his chains and quickly falls asleep
GM says, "everyone quickly falls asleep, exhausted after the long and grueling day."
GM says, "Bodoni, make a Will roll to remain awake."
Renard has disconnected.
Bodoni rolls 3 + 0.
Result [3 2 3] = 8 + 0 = 8.
Bodoni (done)
GM says, "fine, you keep cyclopean watch until dawn. :)"
Bodoni (LOL! ;D)
GM says, "corin, you return to the city... AGAIN... and when you get there the eastern sky is getting pink."
Corin hurridly pays the 'gate tax plus some' and heads for the inn.
GM says, "the gates are already open and there are a few early travelers entering the city. you have no trouble with the guards this time - the usually three-folles bribe suffices. it's also a new shift, so these guys don't recognize you."
Corin looks around for some people who could do with a little cash but are not totally untrustworthy looking.
GM says, "you get to the inn, and it's still closed up."
GM says, "but we should fast-forward this..."
The housekeeper arrives to cart Renard off to bed.
Corin says, "(I start the rumor?)"
GM says, "you wait around near the inn, and Augax shows up at dawn, as expected. he tells you he's been down to the river to rouse the boatmen, and they'll be ready to go in two hours. so that's the amount of time you have to start the rumor."
GM says, "we'll condense that into a Streetwise roll, at a penalty for the somewhat odd hour."
Corin rolls 3 + 0.
Result [3 2 6] = 11 + 0 = 11.
Corin says, "(I would use money to pay someone to tell Euric if need be.)"
GM says, "you head to the market square, find some scruffy-looking fellows, and give them your 'hot tip'."
Corin is careful to not describe the rescuer too accurately.
